Public Transportation

Montréal, accessible city - An international destination of choice, Montréal is an international destination of choice (downtown is a mere 20 minutes from the YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport). Montreal has an affordable and efficient public transportation system. A shuttle can be easily found between the airport and down-town area. Featuring 24-hour service, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, the 747 Aéroport Montreal-Trudeau/Downtown shuttle service includes 11 stops in each direction, taking approximately 45 to 70 minutes each way depending on traffic conditions. Wi-Fi service is available on most 747 buses. Buses run frequently, are custom-designed to serve the airport, and are handicap-accessible. Furthermore, for a mere $10 – payable on board (coins only) –, travellers may enjoy unlimited bus and metro access for a 24-hour period. There is also a nearby metro train that frequently operates between the SAT and the Planetarium. You should have little need to rent a personal vehicle for this year's Summit. The STM offers tourists a variety of transit passes valid for one day, three days, evening or unlimited weekend, allowing them to use its network (bus and métro) as often as desired. Move quickly and with carefree ease from Montréal’s underground galleries to the summit of Mount Royal or stop by the Old Port and then head to the Olympic Stadium.

Maisonneuve Market

Located in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough and open in summer and winter, the Maisonneuve Market opened its doors at the beginning of the 20th century, in a majestic stone building. A large number of farmers, grocers, butchers and fishmongers succeeded each other there for half a century. Closed in the 1960s by the municipality, it was thanks to the perseverance of the citizens of the neighborhood that the Maisonneuve Market resumed its activity in 1980. It took another fifteen years for market life to be reborn within a new building, a few steps from the old building.
From the market gardener to the baker, via the cheese maker, the butcher, the fishmonger… you will only find at the Maisonneuve market specialists in their products, who are committed to offering you fresh, quality products, all year round. Do not hesitate to ask your merchants for their valuable advice and taste their new arrivals.

During the summer season, the market welcomes new market gardeners as well as a wide variety of flowers and herbs, which will immerse you in an atmosphere rich in the scent of herbs and other smells typical of the market.
