Montréal Space for Life is made up of five major attractions: the Biodôme, the Biosphère, the Insectarium, the Jardin botanique and the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan. These prestigious municipal institutions form Canada’s largest natural science museum complex. Together, they are launching a daring and creative urban movement that redefines the connection between humankind and nature and cultivates a new way of living. Space for Life aims to make science accessible to everyone. This broad objective targets several priority target audiences, which are all areas of work to be undertaken. Here we will briefly cover the concrete actions that have been taken at the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan to improve the representation of women in science. Supported by a desire for change across the City of Montreal, the institution has taken concrete action over the past three years. An institutional policy relating to the place of women in STEM careers has been developed in the wake of these actions. Among the actions that will be discussed are:
