NSC Creative led the creation of a major new attraction at the National Space Centre, UK between 2019-2022. Tetrastar Spaceport combines immersive theatre, actors, realistic set design, projection mapping, spatial audio, real-time content with interaction, motion seats, hands-on interactives with immersive storytelling. The talk will share the challenges of working within an existing footprint to create a compelling immersive experience for family and school visitors whilst achieving the required throughout. How to combine live performance with pre-recorded media whilst maintaining the character and making it run smoothly and in character. How to show control 15 zones with 4 concurrent pulses of 20 people facilitate with an in character facilitator per group. How to create a multi-purpose space that can also deliver more in-depth 1-hour missions for school groups of different ages and corporate team building. Group user testing challenges for linked tasks so the whole team feel like they are working together towards a common goal. Scoring systems but not gamifying the content too much. Experience synopsis

You will be transported to the year 2080 where spaceflight is a routine family activity. Skylar King, our newest Tetrastar flight crew attendant with their trusty AI companion ADA will ensure a successful Earth orbital cruise. Flights don’t always go according to plan so you may have to take a few detours and get hands-on to be part of a rescue mission. The spacecraft flight requires you to smash those buttons at the perfect time to achieve the best route to your destination in search of achieving the prestigious Platinum Tetrastar elite award. If presented in a dome can show some 360 imagery from the experience and make the standard material utilise the dome canvas with its layout. (10 minutes)
