Transmedia Approach to Science Communication using Immersive Media formats like AR, VR and FullDome

Transmedia Approach to Science Communication using media formats like AR, VR and FullDome based on our actual science outreach project with 9 other Universities called: Neurotronics “Bio inspired information pathways" https://www.crc1461-neurotronics.de/

The research is being conducted on the following animals: hydra, jellyfish and neurons in the human brain. These animals and the neuron human network have been prepared for an AR poster, VR and a fulldome film. I would like to show several short Fulldome sequences of our research project, as a work in progress.

The visual material is either animated (CGI) or filmed in Puerto Rico this year, including some real underwater footage from the very small, transparent jelly fish between the mangroven roots. Our Science Outreach Project aims to develop and investigate different hands-on and visual outreach tools and approaches to (1) offer insights into the research work to audiences outside academia and (2) to enhance and support interdisciplinary collaboration among scientists. VR and Fulldome insights and hands-on experiments will be used as impulses for think-aloud and narrative interview studies which will be analyzed with regard to emotional appeal, disciplinary conceptual explanations and potential misunderstandings.
